Based in Sherborne, Dorset, I specialise in portrait, editorial and lifestyle photography. Associate of the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP).
My style is quite relaxed and informal, I like capturing people at ease with themselves and each other. I create pictures using natural light, composition and interesting locations so as to add more drama and interest. My portraiture is often for families but not excluisively - a lot of artists/producers commission me for portraits and lifestyle images that help tell their stories. My background in magazines has been a significant influence on my approach to lifestyle shoots and I like looking for a visual narrative.
An appreciation and admiration of fine art and photography have always been close to my heart and commissioning photographers or taking my own pictures has always been part of my working life. Firstly in magazine publishing, where I was lucky enough to work across some of the UKs leading titles (Country Living, Good Housekeeping, Harpers & Queen) and more recently in PR and marketing for the National Trust. Over that time I've developed an eye for what works and have had loads of experience to help me get a photoshoot just right. Over the last few years I have consolidated my experience with more professional mentoring and a summer school in portraiture at Central St Martins.
Please have a look through the portfolios here to see a good selection of portrait and lifestyle images. I hope you like my work and we'll soon be talking about a shoot that's unique to you.
