Meet the artist - Emsie Sharp, Glassblower

I think I grew up pretty much surrounded by artists and was always impressed, but more usually humbled, by their conviction and drive.  Now, with time to work at my own photography, I find myself drawn to recording something of the artist's life and work.  I can't really get enough of it.  This is Emsie, she blows glass, beautiful jewel-like pieces of colourful, glinting glass. Emsie trained in Murano and on a recent visit to her studio in a converted Dorset cowshed I took some pictures of her at work - it was totally magical.  Fast and mysterious, you could hardly keep up with what was happening (I struggled to) but my goodness, so confident and precise.

This is a glassblower's 'to do' list.

Emsie returns to this workbench time afer time in the process of making a piece of glass.

Just beautiful.
